Valeska Cambron

Valeska Cambron holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Temple University. Recently, Valeska modeled for designer Catherine Heiser in the second annual Classical Singer Convention.

This past May she performed in the Porgy and Bess chorus with Opera Delaware. In December of 2003, Valeska sang her solo recital debut at Carnegie Hall. Valeska has also performed in solo and group performances in Italy with the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in June of 2004 and Florence Voice Seminar in July of 2003. During the Florence Voice Seminar, Valeska participated in master classes with Benita Valente, Laura Brooks-Rice and Julian Rodescu.

In May of 2003, Valeska received an honorable mention at the National Association of Negro Business Young Artist Competition. Valeska performed the role of the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel with Elysium Concert Opera in December of 2003. Also in April 2003, Valeska sang in Hansel and Gretel with the Temple University Opera. She has also performed at the Kimmel Center and Academy of Music with the Temple University Choir. She has performed for charity events, such as Light the Night at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia and Project Malawi in Pleasantville, New Jersey.

In 1997 and 1998, Valeska won the New Jersey Governor's Award for Arts Education at the New Jersey Opera Festival. Currently, Valeska teaches private lessons in Philadelphia at Cheltenham Art and Music. She continues to study voice with Ms. Randi Marrazzo. During the month of July, Valeska will perform an Andrew Lloyd Weber review with the MAPS Foundation in Margate , New Jersey , and participated in the Crittenden Summer Opera Workshop in Washington D.C. She is attending Longy School of Music as of September of 2005 to receive a Master of Music in opera performance, and she has been accepted as a Marian Anderson Scholar.
