Rebecca Fromherz

Rebecca Fromherz (USA) is the 2008 recipient of Oregon’s Petri Foreign Music Study Award ($20,000) for opera in Europe. She received her B.A. in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, honored as ‘Outstanding Vocal Student’.  After Oberlin Rebecca went to Vienna, Austria, to study with Kammersängerinnen Christa Ludwig and Hilde Zadek, and Konrad Leitner at the Universität Wien. Rebecca also studied Dance and Acting at the Vienna Konservatorium.  Her professional resume lists appearances at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, and opera festivals in Holland, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Slovakia.   Rebecca lives in Dallas, Oregon, and studies with Jean-Ronald LaFond. In 2011 she is honored to be appointed a Marian Anderson Scholar, and begins her Masters Studies at the Graduate School of Education at Willamette University to develop a concept and an organization which she calls “Opera Organically”.  Upcoming months bring regular singing engagements for Rebecca in Vienna, Austria, Washington D.C., Berlin, Germany, and in Oregon.  For more information please visit  rebeccafromherz.com and operaorganically.com
