Dear Friend and Patron:
Why does everyone need something now? What are the times we live in regarding the ‘sharing’ community? How do we prioritize our gifts? One might ask these questions which results in writing or not writing that check.
Marian Anderson wrote a check investing in the future of our youth, and the professionalism of our adult population. It may not have been just a ‘paper’ check, but rather an investment in what happened in American history for the African-American, and anyone striving for the opportunity to share a gift in the arts, in the media, and in global society. She opened heavy doors, and paved golden roads with her silvery, angelic voice. With courage and tenacity, commitment to excellence and humanity, her work has become our legacy. Marian Anderson’s dream and reality, transported into light and sound, exist now for the entire world to know and embrace.
We are asking that you make a commitment to support the Marian Anderson’s Scholars Program. Your tax exempt gift of $1,000, $10,000, $100,000 or anything in between will help the Marian Anderson Scholars and serve as a gift to our youth.
We believe in LIVE, i.e. Legacy, Investment, Voice, and Excellence! Your gift will not only celebrate the life of a world-renowned American treasure, but will continue to “live” in the realm of the arts, the lives of our youth, and the Spirit of mankind’s hope for unity and purpose.
Please visit our web site and the accolades of our scholars while remembering the gift of her work, as your pen glides over your check. We are looking forward to your participation in this campaign, and your legendary commitment ot the community. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Blanche Burton Lyles
